May Dinner Dance Will Honor Mothers

Zaman Grotto is pleased to announce that our next dinner dance will be on Saturday, May 18 and will honor Mothers.

Each Mother who attends will receive a ticket for a door prize drawing.

Everyone is encouraged to bring photos and stories about their mothers. We will have a story-telling contest with the top 2 stories about the teller’s mother winning a prize.

Steak dinner at 7pm with dancing to a live band (Shades of Grey) at 8pm. Just $40 per couple.

2013 Monarch’s Ball — Saturday, April 20

The 2013 Monarch’s Ball is SATURDAY, April 20, starting at 7pm.

This is a Tuxedo and Fancy Dresses event.

$40.00 per couple. Dinner Dance.

March & April Events at Zaman Grotto

The fun continues at Zaman Grotto with these exciting events.

• Wednesday, March 6 — 7pm — Volunteer Unit Meeting. Potluck Dinner then the Unit meets.
• Saturday, March 16 — 7pm – Dinner Dance. Steak Dinner with the  usual fixings at 7pm, Live Band: Shades of Gray at 8pm for dancing. This is a ST. PATRICK’S DANCE, so come in your green attire. Please contact the Grotto office to make your reservations — or you can use our Reservation Form on our website (http://zamangrotto.org/reserveform.html ) .
• Wednesday, March 20 – 7pm – Potluck Dinner with the Zaman Ladies – followed by Grotto Stated Meeting and Ladies Auxiliary Stated Meeting (in separate rooms) at 8pm.
• Saturday, April 20 – 7pm – MONARCH’S BALL
• Saturday, May 11 – 8am Breakfast followed by Spring Ceremonial (note: this is a change. The Ceremonial will NOT be on the same day as the Monarch’s Ball.)
• The date of the Bar-B-Q Contest is in flux. Please continue to contact the office or Past Monarch James E. Stewart to sign-up for this event.

The February Dinner Dance at Zaman Grotto will be held this upcoming Saturday, February 16, 2013.

Steak Dinner with all the trimmings at 7pm.

Dancing to a live band at 8pm.

Just $40 per couple.

Upcoming Events at Zaman Grotto

Here is the current calendar of upcoming events at Zaman Grotto. We look forward to seeing you at these fun happenings.

** Wednesday, February 6 — 6pm — Potluck Dinner followed by the Volunteer Unit meeting. Our Vols are a great group of guys. Come on out and join them.

** Wednesday, February 20 — 7pm – Potluck Dinner with the Ladies, followed by Stated Meeting of Zaman Grotto. The Ladies Auxillary will also have their Stated Meeting at this time (in a separate room, of course).
(March and April Stated Meetings will also be on the 3rd Wednesday of those months, unless the 3rd Wednesday is during Grand Lodge, in which case, it might get moved.)

** Saturday, April 20th — 9am – Breakfast followed by SPRING CEREMONIAL. This is your chance to join the Grotto. Please see a member to get a petition.

** Saturday, April 20th – 7pm – Monarch’s Ball.

** Friday April 26 and Saturday April 27 — Bar-B-Q Contest. Please contact Jimmy Stewart, Junior Past Monarch, for details.

January Events at Zaman Grotto

We are excited to begin a new year at Zaman Grotto.

Please join us for these fun events !

* Saturday, Jan 12, 8am – Breakfast with the Volunteer Unit, followed by that unit’s brief meeting. This is an excellent way to get involved with the Grotto or just to enjoy a great breakfast and get to know some of our members a bit better. We usually have some laughs along with the food.

* Wednesday, Jan 16, 7pm – Potluck Dinner with the Ladies, followed at 8pm by Stated Meetings of Zaman Grotto and our Ladies Auxillary (in separate rooms, of course). The dinner is a lot of fun. Bring a dish and come on out!

* Saturday, January 26, 7pm -  Dinner Dance.  Steak Dinner at 7pm followed by dancing at 8pm. Live Band: Shades of Gray. $40.00 per couple. Zaman Grotto elects 2013 Officers

At the December 19, 2012, Stated Meeting, Zaman Grotto elected the following officers for 2013:

Monarch – Bob Kermick
Chief Justice – Gene Gitter
Master of Ceremonies – Tim Gatewood
Venerable Prophet – Kirby L. Cate, Sr.
Treasurer – Jim Connors, PM
Secretary – Jim Stewart, PM
Trustee for 3 Years – Charlie Moore, PM

The following officers were appointed:
Marshall – Jim Scarborough
Captain of the Guard – Bobby Mason
Other appointed officers and Committee Chairmen will be announced later.

All of the above officers were installed by Past Monarch Charlie Moore. Past Monarch Fezes were presented to Charlie Moore (2011) and Jimmy Stewart (2012).

It was announced that Gene Gitter will soon take over handling rentals of the building from Al & Diane Hansen. Standing ovations were given for the Hansens and for Jim Annestedt, who served as Secretary for many years.

Meanwhile, at the same time, the Zaman Ladies Auxiliary met & elected the following 2013 Officers:

Evelyn Shackelford – Vice President
Wanda Cassini – Secretary
Ann Connors – Treasurer

Our next event is the Volunteer Unit Breakfast at 8am on Sat 1-12-13. Please join us for this fun gathering.

December Calendar – Zaman Grotto

December is already over half gone & it has been a very busy month! Please pardon my delay in posting the calendar.

The Grotto Volunteers met earlier this month. Due to rentals & schedules, we did not have a dinner dance this moth – YET!

Upcoming events are:

* Wed 12-19-12 at 8pm – Stated Meeting, Elections & Installation. As has long been our practice, we will not have a potluck before the December meeting. There may be refreshments after.

** Mon 12-31-12 NEW YEAR’S EVE Party. Dinner Dance. $40 per couple. Steak dinner with black eyed peas. Live band – Shades of Gray. Please make your reservations online by the Saturday before (see the Reservation Form on our website to do that). Or you can reserve through Jim Connor or Jimmy Stewart.

October is Spook-tacular Fun at Zaman Grotto

October 2012 will be “Spook-tacular Fun” at Zaman Grotto!
